AIR ASIA Inaugural flight from Davao to Cebu

To officially welcome summer, Air Asia had launched inaugural flights from and to Davao, Cebu, Clark, Palawan and Caticlan/Boracay last April 22, 2017.

The first Air Asia flight was from Davao to Cebu, and I'm one of the online bloggers invited to join the flight that took off from Francisco Bangoy International Airport at 10:40 AM with Philippines Air Asia Director of Flight Operations Captain Gomer Monreal as operating pilot assisted by Captain Bernardino Perez and flight officer Leonardo Orendain. Our destination is Cebu, the Queen City of the South.

Me and my blogger/vlogger friends from Davao Digital Influencers group were set in exploring Cebu's natural, historical and cultural wonders and at the same time feature the growing contemporary businesses and industries in the city from April 22 to 24 for 3 days and 2 nights Media Familiarization Tour.

Our group was consisting of traditional media and online media personalities who were actively posting our contents on our respective social accounts, blogs and video blogs.

Aside from twice daily flights between Davao and Cebu, AirAsia also formally opened daily flights from Davao to Boracay; to Palawan at 3x weekly and to Clark at 4x weekly using Airbus A320s or jets which can accommodate up to 180 guests per flight. AirAsia also maintains 3x daily flights between Manila and Davao.

Our AirAsia flight Z2522 from Davao arrived in Cebu Mactan International Airport on time at 11:45am with 98% load and was welcomed by water salute from Mactan Cebu International Airport management followed by a cake-cutting ceremony led by officials from GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC).
